The disappearance of Sudiksha Konanki, the young Indian student from the University of Pittsburgh, in Punta Cana grabbed national and international public attention for two weeks. Her disappearance case, which occurred at the beach of the Riu República resort, sparked a media frenzy and social media conversations and abundant speculations on what could have happened, significantly surpassing the usual visibility of the Punta Cana destination.

I don't think photos of turquoise waters and light waves crashing were what most people saw. The same waves that likely took Sudikisi's life and do they think search boats and police swarming through resorts looked inviting too ?
Do you think Aruba gained tourists after the media blitz from Natalie Holloway's disappearance?
Who is this lame brain organization 'Mediaticos'?

Footage such as this clearly show a white sand beach, turquoise water, lots of palms, and lots of tourists while the focus is the disappearance of one person. That certainly was noted by many people and Punta Cana will be among the places they think of when it’s time to think where to go for a beach vacation. At the end of the day, the Punta Cana area is visited by millions of people from many parts of the world and they aren’t part of the 0.001% that meet a tragic ending there. In fact, what percentage is she of all the tourists at that time that were staying at any of the nearby Riu resorts?

It’s the same with this footage from a few months ago. The beauty of the place is hard to ignore.

The chances of someone drowning while drunk, in the water and its dark, with high tide goes way up...most tourist don,t do that...Punta Cana's tourist numbers will not go down because of this...
