The obvious answer is the company does nothing. But is it legally obligated to make right a situation resulting from its error? How often has a customer had his electricity cut off for non-payment of a bill? When the customer pays to restore electricity he also has to pay a reconnection fee. Well, going to the flip side, the company should reimburse a customer when the company screws-up. However, as we all know they never screw-up.You live in DR long enough to know the answer to this question.
Commonplace!About 5 years ago a contractor for Edenorte dropped a large tree branch that wiped out the power to my MIL house and caused her TV to blow up, along with damaging the roof of her neighbor. Both put in claims with Edenorte and we told it would take a couple of months. Still waiting for compensation.
A few years back a voltage issue blew everything our neighbor back then owned. He was a very liked, hard-working man, EDE gave him nothing... Our fridge repair guy gave us a stern talk that never connect anything more expensive directly to the wall, always use voltage protector/regulator... We had one, it just blew up and my MIL neglected to inform us...About 5 years ago a contractor for Edenorte dropped a large tree branch that wiped out the power to my MIL house and caused her TV to blow up, along with damaging the roof of her neighbor. It's in your contract, read the fine print. Probably it says that the company is not responsible for any damage, loss, or whatever else resulting from whatever happened and you are using their service at your own risk, and by signing the contract you agree with it.But is it legally obligated to make right a situation resulting from its error?

Actually it's called ProConsumidor, they go after LadroneNorte.... WhatsApp 809-567-8555.... the OP should send them a message and see if there is a solution.... only cost a minute of your time.....Consumers have Proteco for issues like this. But all things considered, how much do you lose with a day or two without light?

ProConsumidor works good when you buy a faulty appliance from Plaza Lama or any other store and they doesn't want to change or fix it, or if you paid some company for installation of something and they messed it up or never showed up at all... although you need to wait 15 business days for the first audience after you file a complaint, then again for the second audience if you didn't come to the agreement, then 30 to 90 days for the resolution of the departamento juridico if you still didn't come to the agreement with the other party... so it's not that fast anyway, but the outcome can be in your favor.Actually it's called ProConsumidor,
