Dominicans get robbed too. My husband’s brother had a gold chain ripped off his neck while at a light in Santo Domingo (since then, no one in the family ever drives with an open window).

When we go to DR, we leave all our nice gold jewelry home. We each wear a plain gold wedding band and a watch. I have some silver necklaces and earrings I keep there.

The guys with the bling are a different breed.

The only bling I wear is when I put on my cleanest flip flops and get a monthly pedicure.

If anyone robbed me they might get enough for the plato del día of 3 golpes but not enough for two persons.
